Old Town: The Gay district of Nice
The Old City is a neighborhood located at the foot of Castle Hill.
With its narrow streets and mansions, it has maintained over time a picturesque charm and Italianate. This area has great monuments in particular the Palais Lascaris (dedicated to the history of music), the Mamac (Museum of Modern Art), the Cours Saleya, and a unique set of baroque churches.
This area also abounds in unusual places with its steep streets to the Castle Collinedu.
One of the most typical parts of the quoted price remains the Saleya walked where flowers, antique, or food, mingle with many restaurants and bars that border.
Since the 1990s, the neighborhood has seen the emergence of the gay community, mainly grouped around the rue Francis Gallo, and the famous Cours Saleya terrace of the "civet." The Old City is today a lively district, including the weekend. => For more information on the gay, see "addresses gays and lesbians."
